EMC Demonstration System
Teach, train and bridge the gap between
EMC theory and EMC practice

The EMC Demonstration System is a great way to bridge the gap between theory and practice and to teach and train in high-speed PCB design for good ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC), near-field / close-field probing techniques, and very much more. It will also show you good and bad EMC practices, helping you to design EMC compatible products, systems and installations quickly and with low costs. The Demonstration Unit is a great way to get hands-on experience, and to move from theory to practice in EMC design.
Overview
This EMC Demonstration System is designed for teaching, studying, and training in the areas of:
-
shielding effectiveness
-
the impact of apertures and seams in the lid
-
conducted emissions
-
radiated emissions
-
the impact of EMC mains filters and importance of their RF bonding
-
the influence of different PCB designs
-
shielded vs. unshielded cables
-
matched vs. unmatched loads

It is the perfect tool to help visualize the fundamental aspects of EMC and increase the understanding of EMC fundamentals by your electrical, electronic, PCB, and mechanical engineers, and even by your management.

Shielding Effectiveness and the impact of apertures and seams in the lid: Our EMC Demonstration System is the perfect tool for teaching and training in Shielding Effectiveness. It comes with up to five different lids, all with different kinds of apertures, shapes, lengths and combinations of them to help you learn about Shielding Effectiveness both in the far-field and near-field. The system is designed for use in classrooms, conference rooms and table-top setting without the need of expensive test chambers or filtered/shielded environments, providing a real-world setting to study and understand the principles of EMC. This is the perfect tool for anyone looking to enhance their EMC knowledge and has been used before to train both engineers, electronic and mechanical design teams to get a better overall understanding of the fundamental aspects of shielding.

Conducted emissions testing and evaluation is an important part of EMC. Our EMC Demonstration Unit quickly demonstrates the impact on the conducted emissions on the mains cable in relation to its filtering and the adequacy of the RF bonding of its filter(s). Situations that can be demonstrated are: an unfiltered mains, a filtered mains with a "good" ground bond (i.e. low-enough impedance) and a filtered mains with a "bad" ground bond (i.e. too-high impedance). This helps building understanding of the impact of proper RF bonding of mains filters (and in general, all filters) on the emissions of electrical equipment, including radiated emissions.
The influence of PCB designs on SI, PI, and EMC: our EMC demonstration System provides a convenient platform to compare and contrast different PCB designs to gain a better understanding of the influence of their design at PCB on the overall EMC performance.
The platform also provides a comprehensive tutorial in which users can learn the fundamentals of PCB design and implications on Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), and EMC.
The overall goal is to help gain the necessary skills to build reliable, high-performance PCB designs that cost-effectively meet EMC requirements from the first prototype.

Available Configurations
The EMC Demonstration System is designed to provide an easy-to-use, versatile and comprehensive tool to demonstrate and understand Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). With its adjustable lids, filters, high-speed driver PCBs, load boxes and its Peli case for transport, this system is tailor-made to suit your training and demonstration needs. It provides a perfect platform to learn and understand the fundamentals of EMC quickly and easily.
